Truth seeking
We seek knowledge through evidence, careful reasoning, and a willingness to revise our conclusions.
The HxA Campus Chapter at Mississippi State
A member-led community dedicated to thoughtful discussion, constructive disagreement, and the free exchange of ideas.
Who we are
We are a member-led campus chapter of Heterodox Academy (HxA), bringing together people at Mississippi State University who care about open inquiry and the free exchange of ideas.
We aim to create opportunities for thoughtful discussion across differences—where people can challenge assumptions, examine evidence, and engage one another in good faith, even on difficult or controversial subjects.
We invite graduate students, staff, and faculty from across Mississippi State University to join us in this effort.
Learn about Heterodox AcademyWhat guides us
Four commitments that guide our chapter's work.
We seek knowledge through evidence, careful reasoning, and a willingness to revise our conclusions.
People should be free to ask questions and express ideas, while remaining open to challenge and criticism.
Different perspectives help uncover assumptions, test arguments, and deepen understanding.
We engage across differences with intellectual humility, charity, and a commitment to learning.
